Training in Arts Integration for Teaching Artists: September 26-27th, 2026
Arts Connect: Accessing Learning Through the Arts is Arts Impact’s new professional learning opportunity!
Are you a teaching artists seeking work in public schools? Have you ever wondered how you could deepen your skills in arts integration, learning how to connect your arts discipline with reading, writing, math, and other subjects?
Join us for a hands-on weekend workshop led by Arts Impact staff and experienced Artist Mentors designed to introduce core competencies for working with Arts Impact and beyond: culturally responsive teaching, arts integration, and project based learning. *All required materials will be provided, along with snacks and lunch!
**This FREE 2-day training is intended for teaching artists with some prior experience working in public schools who are looking to deepen or strengthen their knowledge of arts integration lesson writing and instruction through a culturally responsive lens in elementary classrooms.

Arts Impact’s mission is to provide high-quality arts integrated learning for students in low-income communities. We contract with local teaching artists to provide rigorous professional learning and classroom mentorships for PreK-8th grade educators. We are currently seeking visual arts, dance, theater, and multimedia teaching artists strongly grounded in their art discipline with approximately two years of teaching experience. Participation in the Arts Connect workshop is a chance to build the skills needed to join our roster of Artist Mentors and bolster your toolkit for teaching in and through the arts!
Up to 10 participants from the Arts Connect workshop will be invited to participate in an additional arts integration intensive training with the goal of inviting up to 6 teaching artists to join our roster for the school year. New Artist Mentors will receive additional coaching and paid training opportunities to shadow experienced Artist Mentors, building capacity for independent paid contracts.

*Participation in Arts Connect is fully funded by 4Culture!
**We also recommend ArtsWA’s Teaching Artist Training Lab (TAT Lab) for teaching artists! Arts Connect has been developed in collaboration with TAT Lab as a complimentary resource for deeper learning in arts integration.
